Exciting news, the 2010 federal budget was released last night. Please find attached a summary of the proposed amendments.  The attached document is reasonably detailed so feel free to contact myself if you have any queries.
A brief summary of the budget:
•    An expected return to surplus in 2012-13;
•    Funding of a renewable energy future fund;
•    Funding of a new infrastructure fund;
•    Increased spending on health, especially for GP clinics;
•    A reduction in the corporate tax rate commencing 1 July 2013 (different for large and small businesses);
•    Super guarantee to increase from 9% to 12%;
•    Increase in the tax free threshold;
•    Standard deduction amount for wage earners;
Just a reminder that items presented in the budget often have to be debated by the politicians (which can be lengthily) before they are  in force.
